The developments in the Middle East have made the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in strengthening the “nations of resistance” a strategic issue. Inspired by the discourse of the Islamic Revolution, these nations have stood up to the domination of global powers; however, Westernization trends and the weakening of religious identity in the region have created a fundamental challenge for their future. The Second Step Statement of the Islamic Revolution, especially in its sixth axis, provides a framework for redefining Iran’s foreign relations based on national dignity, independence, and support for the oppressed. This research, with a normative futures approach and a structural analysis method (MicMic), seeks to identify the factors affecting Iran’s role in strengthening the nations of resistance. By highlighting key drivers and strategic uncertainties, the results can serve as the basis for designing scenarios and strategic decision-making for the transition from the current situation to the desired situation; a situation in which the nations of the region with an Islamic-revolutionary and anti-imperialist identity find greater solidarity. These results include transforming “bordering the common enemy” from a slogan into operational regional institutions, strengthening “structural support for resistance movements,” transforming “public opinion” from passivity to an “active narrative war,” developing the “axis of resistance beyond Shiite borders” as an anti-arrogance coalition that includes Sunnis, Christians, and other religions, representing a “common Islamic-revolutionary identity” through civilizational diplomacy, and strengthening the “link of resistance with the Palestinian cause” as the central core of resistance.
