Drawing on Michel Foucault’s theoretical framework of disciplinary power combined with the concept of geo-ideology, this research examines the multilayered containment of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the post-Gaza War period (since October 2023). In this perspective, security is not an objective and fixed reality, but rather a discursive and spatial construct that emerges from complex networks of power-knowledge. The central question of the research is how Iran’s containment is organized in the form of geo-ideological mechanisms and what role does it play in reproducing the new security order of the Middle East? The research hypothesis is based on the premise that this containment embodies an example of “post-conflict disciplinary security”; a combination of physical and semantic control that, through the production and circulation of security-building discourses, encapsulates the identity of the Iranian resistance in a framework of constant surveillance and geo-ideological segregation, and erodes its legitimacy from within. Methodologically, the research adopts a Foucauldian critical-geopolitical discourse analysis approach and re-examines strategic data, official security statements, media narratives, and coalition formations after the Gaza war. The research findings highlight three key disciplinary-semantic axes: first, the reconfiguration of the discourse of resistance through the engineering of identity narratives; second, the organization of threat perceptions by transforming future possibilities into present dangers; and third, the normative incorporation of the region into the Western order through the reconstruction of regional identities. These processes reduce Iran from an active regional actor to a subject under discursive surveillance.
