Abstract
The shift in behavioral patterns of Arab countries and the Zionist regime has raised fundamental questions regarding the nature, characteristics, and causes of this significant regional transformation. This study seeks to examine the geopolitical trends and developments that led to the formation of the Abraham Accords and the normalization of relations between the member states of the Accords and the Zionist regime, while also introducing its nature and characteristics. The research aims to explore the causes, nature, and features of the Abraham Accords, attempting to reveal the internal logic of this agreement. Accordingly, the central research question is: What are the nature and characteristics of the Abraham Accords, and what are the causes of their formation?
This study employs a qualitative approach and thematic analysis method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using MAXQDA software. As a result, 197 basic themes, 82 organizing themes, and 23 overarching themes were identified across two dimensions: “nature and characteristics” and “causes of formation.” The findings indicate that broad dimensions, a confrontational nature against resistance, American and Zionist orientation, and mutual convergence between Arabs and the Zionist regime are among its most significant features. Furthermore, the fragile geopolitics of West Asia, the structure of power at regional and global scales, and the geopolitical expansion of the resistance are among the most important causes of the formation of this Accords.
