Abstract

The emergence of Islamism in the last few decades was shaped by the reaction to the backwardness of the Islamic world compared to the West. One of the most important concerns of Islamists is the question of good governance and its theoretical and practical models. This concern has become more apparent since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the establishment of the Islamic Republic's system based on Imam Khomeini's political thought. One of the countries in which the Islamists greatly influenced the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini is Tunisia. In the country, the Islamist movement of Ennahda and its leader, Sheikh Rashid al-Ghannouchi, have been struggling with dictatorship in Tunisia since the 1960s, with the advent of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and a familiarization with the ideas of Imam Khomeini, a new trend in thought. The political action of the Ennahda movement and its leadership in favor of good governance came into being. Given the importance of the subject, this article asks what implications has Rashid al-Ghannouchi's concept of good governance received from the Islamic Revolution of Iran and Imam Khomeini? In order to answer this question, the paper uses broadcast theory. The findings indicate that the desirable government in Ghannouchi's political thought after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and under the influence of Imam Khomeini's political thought has undergone a conceptual transformation so that in the sixties and seventies it mainly pursued Islamic democracy. However, following the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, it seeks Islam as a distinct social program for governance. The most important influence of Imam Khomeini's thought is to provide a new framework for pursuing social struggles in Tunisia based on Quranic teachings, and the main impact of the Islamic Revolution on the Islamic Movement in Tunisia is to become familiar with the social and political dimensions of the struggle against tyranny and colonialism.
